Vacancy : Database Assistant



Under Service Contract between Muslim Aid – International Organization for Migration (IOM) Yogyakarta to provides a high qualification Technical Support Staff to IOM Yogyakarta, Muslim Aid Yogyakarta is currently looking for a qualified and committed candidate to fill the following position:

Position title : Database Assistant
Duty Station : Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Type of Contract : 1 month (with possibility of extension)

General functions : Under the direct supervision of Project Assistant I (Administration & Data Management), and the overall supervision of the Community Engagement Coordinator, he/she will provide assistance in the implementation of livelihood projects in earthquake-affected areas in Yogyakarta and Central Java. In particular, he/she will:
• In close coordination with Project Assistant responsible for updating database in daily basis according to data collected in the field as well as carry out day- to-day data entry.
• In close coordination with the Project Assistant, prepare and provide data to IOM central database
• Assist the Community Engagement Unit in preparing, copying and filling various documents related to programme activities.
• Assist the Project Assistant in preparing periodic reports of the overall database.
• Coordinate with the Project Assistant in protecting data access and its confidentiality, as well as maintain accurate database of beneficiaries
• Coordinate with the Project Assistant to implement regular backups for the database.
• Undertake field visits to target communities for information gathering if and when necessary;
• Extend support to other units as per the request of the Project Assistant or Programme Manager.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Desired Qualifications:
• S1 degree in computer science, relevant administration study or a combination of relevant education and professional experience
 Previousexperience in t he field of data management and administration
 Strong familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) application
 Detail oriented, excellent administrative and organizational skills
 Efficient,flexible, punctual and demonstrated ability to work effectively under low supervision and with tight deadline.
 Previous experience in international organization and/or local NGO preferred
 Outgoing and people-oriented
 Knowledge of basic English is required.

Fire Safety Management (FSM)



Pembangunan gedung-gedung harus sesuai dengan Undang-Undang Bangunan Gedung No. 28 2002 (UUBG 2002). Undang-undang ini menghendaki terciptanya suatu bangunan gedung yang aman, nyaman dan produktif bagi penghuninya. Faktor keselamatan merupakan salah satu persyaratan penting yang harus dipenuhi oleh sebuah bangunan gedung, salah satu aspek keselamatan adalah keselamatan terhadap bahaya kebakaran dengan menerapkan fire protection system.

Tiga komponen penting dalam fire protection system yaitu : 1) proteksi aktif, 2) proteksi pasif, dan 3) fire safety management. Fire safety management (FSM) adalah bagian dari manajemen bangunan gedung untuk mengupayakan kesiapan pengelola bangunan, penghuni bangunan dan regu pemadam kebakaran terhadap kegiatan pemadaman kebakaran pada suatu bangunan gedung.
Bagaimana suatu bangunan telah menerapkan fire safety management (FSM) dengan baik, apakah bangunan gedung yang tidak ada histori kebakaran dapat disebut telah menerapkan FSM dengan baik, apakah harus menunggu bangunan tersebut terbakar kemudian dilihat bagaimana kesiapan pihak manajemen dalam menghadapi keadaaan tersebut. Tentunya tidak perlu semahal itu untuk mengetahui kualitas penerapan FSM pada suatu bangunan gedung. Beberapa faktor yang dapat dijadikan sebagai indikasi kualitas penerapan FSM yaitu :

1) Tata kerja yang menunjang keamanan terhadap bahaya kebakaran (fire safety house keeping).
2) Pemeriksaan dan perawatan.
3) Pembentukan tim penanggulangan kebakaran (fire emergency team)
4) Pembinaan dan pelatihan personil
5) Penyusunan rencana tindak darurat kebakaran (fire emergency plan).
6) Latihan kebakaran (fire drill)
7) Pelaksanaan audit keselamatan kebakaran (fire safety audit).
8) Komunikasi dengan dinas kebakaran dan pihak terkait.
9) Penyediaan brosur, leaflet dan poster.

Position title : Market Research Assistant
Duty Station : Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Gross Salary : Rp. 4,300,000
Type of Contract : Special, 1 month (with possibility extension)

Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manger and the direct supervision of the Market Research Coordinator, the Market Research Assistant will be responsible to conduct market research on selected economic sectors as part of the Java Reconstruction Fund (JRF) Livelihood project, implemented in Yogyakarta and Central Java. In particular, he/she will:


General Functions:
- Assist the Market Research Coordinator to implement research activities, working closely with beneficiaries, communities, partners in government and civil society and other market players;
- Execute data collecting activities for the selected economic sectors, including conducting literature studies, observations, interviews, questionnaire surveys, focus group discussions and other activities;
- Carry out data entry of collected data during the data collection activities in a effective, efficient and user friendly manner;
- Pro actively participate in the data analysis and discussion in regards to the market research activities and results;
- Draft high quality market research reports Carry out regular documentation of general economic trends and market developments in the region that may affect or create opportunities on the selected sectors within the Java Reconstruction Fund project;
- Working closely with the Community Engagement Unit on disseminating information in regards to the selected sectors;
- Liaise and work closely with any consultants and/or partner organization in regards to market access initiatives under the Project;
- Prepare and organize any workshop or seminar in order disseminate findings from the market research;
- Contribute to on-going technical assistance and capacity building on market information for micro- and small enterprises/ beneficiaries under the Project;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Market Research Coordinator/ Programme Manager.

Desired qualifications:
University degree, preferably in Social sciences or alternatively, a combination of related education and professional experience.At least 1 year of relevant professional experience in the livelihood sector and/or research.Good research skills and knowledge.Experienc e in conducting interviews, community facilitation, conducting surveys, and providing technical advice.Experience in preparation of reports and official correspondence. Computer literate (word-processing, spreadsheet, e-mail exchange). A high level of personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results, respect for diversity, creative thinking.Fluency in Javanese is preferred; English ability is advantageousGood interpersonal skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to establish priorities and undertake assigned tasks with minimum supervision Able to work independently, and under pressure
